The Tourist Board organises fam trip to promote Málaga City as a departure port for cruises

The National Marketing Department has just welcomed a group of travel agents from Madrid and Málaga (45 and 40 travel professionals, respectively), who came on a fam trip planned with the Málaga Town Hall, Royal Caribbean, and AVE-Renfe. The fam trip was organised to coincide with the call of “Independence of the Seas” at the Port of Málaga, showing these travel agents the products and services available in the city.

Number of Companies in the Hospitality and Catering Industries

In May 2009, the province of Málaga had 73,436 bed spaces available. This was 2.19 pct more than in May 2008, when bed spaces amounted to 71,863. Also, the number of hotels rose from 418 in May 2008 to 432 one year later.

The Tourist Board attends “Andalusia in Madrid” workshops

Representatives of the National Marketing Department of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board have taken part in the professional workshops organised by the Andalusian Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Sports in the context of the “Andalusia in Madrid” campaign. These workshops were aimed at making contacts between buyers in the Community of Madrid and travel suppliers in Andalusia, thus strengthening promotion efforts in this autonomous community –the second largest outbound area in the domestic market, only behind Andalusia itself.
