Macharaviaya has launched a new cultural tourism promotion campaign, consisting of the sending of SMS to visitors’ mobile phones using Bluetooth technology. The messages contain information on the history and heritage of this village in Axarquía.

Club de Golf Lomas-Golf holds successful round of 3rd Madrid-Costa del Sol Masters Golf Tournament

The Madrid-based Lomas-Bosque golf course played host to one of the qualifying rounds of the 3rd Madrid-Costa del Sol Golf Tournament. The event was very successful, drawing 244 golfers who played in good weather. Once again, we were able to check the interest of both participants and club members in the Costa del Sol, especially with regard to accommodation and golf facilities.

Hotel Occupancy Rates

In March 2009, 287,219 travellers stayed in accommodation facilities on the Costa del Sol. This is 26.37 pct less than in March 2008, when the region’s hotels accommodated 390,108 guests.

The Tourist Board welcomes Brazilian travel agents specialising in language tourism

The Marketing Department of the Costa del Sol Tourist Board has recently welcomed a group of twelve visiting travel agents from Brazil, who came on a fam trip organised by the Spanish Tourist Office in São Paulo and Turismo Andaluz. They were executives running travel agencies in Brazil specialising in language tourism.
