From 15 to 18 March, the catering industry gathers at Hostelequip under the slogan “Just in time”

Hostelequip, the Professional Equipment, Service, Food and Beverage Show for the Catering and Hospitality Industries is being held at the Málaga Exhibition and Conference Centre (FYCMA) from Sunday 15 to Wednesday 18 March, 2009. Under the slogan “Well Done,” the show, presenting the latest developments in catering services and equipment, begins a new stage, now organised by FYCMA.

The Tourist Board releases 2009-2012 Marketing Plan

The Costa del Sol Tourist Board released its 2009-2012 Marketing Plan. The document was drafted with a group of experts representing the different sectors in the travel industry. Likewise, the Board of Directors has passed the 2009 Action Plan, which will guide the action taken by the tourism promotion agency this year.

Number of Companies in the Hospitality and Catering Industries

In January 2009, the province of Málaga had 72,487 bed spaces available. This was 0.08 pct more than in January 2008, when bed spaces amounted to 72,428. Also, the number of hotels rose to 425 one year later from January 2008.

Portuguese travel agents coming to the Costa del Sol

Taking stock of the Lisbon Travel Exchange (BTL), whose 21st edition was recently held, the Costa del Sol Tourist Board considers it to have had good results. In fact, we have made the necessary arrangements for several groups of Portuguese travel agents to come on fam trips throughout the year.

La Carihuela

La Carihuela, in east Torremolinos, used to be a fishing district, where sea-related tasks were performed. Now it is a cosmopolitan area boasting a great many hotels, entertainment venues, and restaurants, local food having gone beyond borders to gain international renown. “Pescaíto” is perhaps the best-known dish served here.
