Number of Companies in the Hospitality and Catering Industries

In May 2008, the province of Málaga had 71,935 bed spaces available. This was 1.65 pct more than in June 2007, when bed spaces amounted to 70,767. Also, the number of hotels rose from 403 in June 2007 to 417 one year later.

Sohail Castle

Strategically standing on a mountain, the Sohail Castle was inhabited by the Phoenicians, the Carthaginians, the Romans, the Arabs, and the Christians. The building we can see today is an Arab fortress built in the early years of the invasion of the Iberian Peninsula. It lies on the foundations of an older Roman fortress.
