Over 11,000 people have visited the 8th Wine and Designations of Origin Trade Fair, offering four days of intense business and academic activity at the Torremolinos Exhibition and Conference Centre. This number of visitors –18pct more than the previous year– was much higher than expected.

The Costa del Sol Tourist Board has recently welcomed a new group of 22 travel agents from Russia marketing Natalie Tours products and services. Just like the one before it, this fam trip was organised in response to a request made by incoming agency Viatges Serhs Hotels.

Hotel Occupancy Rate – September 2007

In September 2007, 504,036 travellers stayed in accommodation facilities on the Costa del Sol. This is 8.52 pct more than in September 2006, when the region’s hotels accommodated 464,466 guests.

Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Church

The minaret of the Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Church (Our Lady of the Incarnation) stands alone as Árchez’s monument par excellence. It is a well-preserved 15th-century building and it was declared a national monument in 1979. It is 15 metres high and has a square base of 3.64 x 3.64 metres.
