Palacio del Rey Moro Mines
The Casa del Rey Moro (House of the Moorish King), named after a tile on its façade depicting a Muslim king, is located on Santo Domingo Street. Its stonework dates back to the 18th century, but its present appearance is the result of the renovation ordered by the Duchess of Parcent in the early 20th century. Sixty-metre-long stairs carved in the stone connect the gardens with the mines’ springs, flowing into the Guadalevín River. The Moors knew how to take advantage of this water source. |
