2007 Projections
Throughout 2006, those of us who worked in planning and implementing Interactive Marketing strategies have been witnesses of the industry’s favourable evolution.Next year’s prospects are excellent. The Internet will reach a 5% share of total advertising in the next few years, at the expense of the TV and the printed press. Currently, its share in Spanish advertising is 2%. |

Specialisation courses in Hospitality and Tourism at the CIO-Mijas
The Andalusian Centre for Integrated Training in the Leisure Industries (CIO), in Mijas, has presented its 2007/ 2008 training programme for young unemployed people, offering a wide range of specialisation courses aimed at meeting the growing demand for skilled workers among travel and leisure companies. |

Number of Hotels – November 2006
In November, the province of Málaga had 69,780 hotel beds available. This was 1.13% more than in November 2005, when beds amounted to 69,002. Also, the number of hotels grew to 395, in November 2006, from 382, in November 2005. |

Costa del Sol Tourist Board present at INTUR Expo
The Tourist Board attended the 10th edition of the International Inland Tourism Expo INTUR, held in Valladolid. Under the slogan “Open the door to a different kind of tourism”, the fair was intended to highlight diversification in the travel industry by adding new products to traditional offers. |

Victoria Shrine Dome
Out of the historic district but still part of Málaga’s urban centre, the Virgen de la Victoria Shrine was built where Ferdinand II the Catholic camped with his troops before seizing Málaga. In the 17th century, the shrine was replaced by a baroque church, built by the Count of Buenavista. |
