From 21 to 24 September, the Málaga Exhibition and Conference Hall will be the seat of the 3rd International Cultural Tourism Fair. This year, the trade show’s programme features a wide range of parallel activities to discuss and analyse this segment, which is gaining importance in the travel industry by the day.

The Costa del Sol Tourist Board has received a group of travel agencies from Czech tour operator Cedok, as requested by both the Spanish Tourist Office in Vienna and Ultramar Express, Cedok’s incoming travel agency on the Costa del Sol.

Tourist Cross-Border Movements (FRONTUR Survey) – July 2006

A study carried out by the Tourism Studies Institute pointing out that, in July 2006, more than 7.7 million international tourists visited Spain. This meant 3% more visitors than in July 2005, thus continuing the upward trend of the last few months. (The study presented this week is in Spanish).

Inbound passenger nationalities – July 2006

According to the data published by AENA (the Public Business Entity Regulating Spanish Airports and the Aviation Business), in July 2006, 740,893 visitors arrived in the province of Málaga by plane. The country where the highest number of tourists came from was the UK.

Online travel companies on a familiarisation trip to the Costa del Sol

Representatives of online travel companies –whose customers are Internet users– have been invited by the Costa del Sol Tourist Board to visit the region. The Tourist Board intended the travel agents to learn “on the spot” about the wide range of products and services offered in Málaga for tourists.
