Low-cost airlines – July 2006
A study conducted by the Institute of Tourism Studies, pointing out that, in July 2006, 2 million travellers came to Spain from abroad in 13,400 low-cost flights. Thus, low-cost airlines accounted for 31.8% of total flights (6.2 millions), increasing their activity by 13.1% in one year. (The study presented this week is in Spanish).

Number of hotels – July 2006
According to the data published by the Department for Tourism at the Government of Andalusia, in July 2006 there were 395 hotels in the province of Málaga, which can accommodate 69,637 guests. In July 2005, Málaga’s hotels totalled 379 (68,942 guests). |

Journalists keep visiting the Costa del Sol
After the large group of Spanish and foreign journalists visiting the region in a trip organised by the Costa del Sol Tourist Board for the Málaga Fair in August, more journalists from different countries are coming in September. They are interested in writing articles about the towns and sites in the province. |

Wine Museum Dining Room
Málaga’s Wine Museum is located in a late 18th century building which housed the Ojén Brandy Distillery. Renovated in a purely traditional style, this building is one of the most beautiful and original architectural sites on the Costa del Sol. |
