Images: Marqués de Beniel Palace – Interior courtyard
One of the most remarkable private buildings in Vélez-Málaga, the Beniel Palace, was built in the early 17th century, at the request of Alonso de Molina y Medrano, who died before the works came to completion. The palace was inherited by Molina y Medrano’s descendants, the Marquises of Beniel, who ceded the building to be used for official purposes –even as the Town Hall. For some years now, it has been the seat of the María Zambrano Foundation. |
