Málaga gets stronger as a port of call for cruise voyages
In 2009, 488,108 cruise passengers arrived in the Port of Málaga on 302 cruise liners (34 more than in 2008). This reflects a 38.32% rise in the number of cruise passengers over 2008, consolidating Málaga as one of the strongest Spanish ports in this industry. Moreover, 17 ships called at the port for the first time last year. |

The Tourist Board cuts down on Fitur budget by over 30%
The Costa del Sol Tourist Board has had to rely on a 30% lower budget to attend Fitur –Madrid, January 20 to 24– this year. From €250,000, our budget to plan and attend the event has gone down to €170,000. We will have a 350-square-metre in IFEMA’s Pavilion 3, within the Turismo Andaluz space. |

Saint Mary of the Incarnation church
The Iglesia de Santa María de la Encarnación (Saint Mary of the Incarnation church, also known as Santa María la Mayor, or Greater Saint Mary) was built over the old congregational mosque between the late fifteenth century and the early sixteenth century. This church consists of three naves separated by rectangular pillars on which rest pointed arches. |
